Episode Transcript
Alright, good afternoon, everyone.
Good afternoon, Brother Love.
Thank you, Brother Ray, for leading that.
That was fun.
Alright, we have been studying the book of Genesis.
Going verse by verse starting in chapter 1 and we have made it to verse 24 in Genesis chapter 1 which says And God said, let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind. cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth after his kind.
And it was so.
Let's pray.
Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for your precious word, Father.
Thank you, Lord, for each and every person that's come here today to hear your word, Father.
And I pray, Lord, as we get into your word, I just pray, Lord, that you'll teach us here today, Father.
We pray that every ear will be attentive, Father, and that the saints are edified, and that the lost are pointed to Jesus here today, Father.
We thank you and we love you, Lord, and we ask these things in Jesus' name today, Lord.
Amen.
Amen.
All right.
So, now last week we looked at some of the awesome power of God.
God is omnipotent, which means that God has unlimited power and he can do anything he wants to.
All by himself without any help from any of us.
There is not a human being alive.
Or that has been living in the past, a human being now.
That can take some earth And make a living, breathing cow out of it.
And there is not a human being alive that can do any amount of so-called good works to have their sin debts forgiven.
I have taken and I have removed some earth and I brought it here today for a demonstration and I would care I would like to offer it To anybody here today, if you can make a living, breathing cow out of this dirt, I offer this to you to do so.
Now, I haven't even given you a little bonus dirt here.
This has got a little bit of grass and a little couple of rocks or something.
So, you have some added stuff into the dirt that you can work with.
If anybody here are watching, if you're watching and you want me to send it to you and make a living, breathing cow out of it, I would love to see that.
If anybody can do that.
I would like to see you do it.
No takers, huh?
That's because you cannot do it.
Only our God, folks, can take earth.
And make a living breathing creature out of it.
You can no more make a living breathing cow out of this.
Then you can do any kind of amount of good works to earn your weight.
You can't make a living, breathing cow out of this, and no matter good works, all that you do.
Will not get you into heaven.
That was our discussion last week that we talked about.
Only through faith in Christ are you going to be forgiven of your sins and enter into heaven.
There is not a human being alive that can take some earth and make a living, breathing cow out of it.
And there is not a human being alive that can do any amount of so-called good works to have their sin debt forgiven.
Only our all-powerful, holy God has done that.
He not only made cows from the earth But he has blessed each and every one of us with a way to be forgiven of our sin debt without having to stress and worry over it.
If you if I have done enough to be forgiven, and that way is through faith in his dear beloved Son, Jesus Christ, who gave his life In order to pay for your sin debt is full.
Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 Here's her song, brother.
Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Folks, if you are trying to work your way into heaven, you are.
Heavy laden, and ye are laboring at something that will not happen.
Just like laboring and trying to make a cow out of this earth, folks.
You're not going to get into heaven by your good works, and you're not going to turn this dirt into a living, breathing cow.
Jesus said, Come unto me.
Now, why does he say, come unto me?
Because Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
No man cometh unto the Father but by him.
The only way to heaven, folks, to have your sins forgiven, is through Jesus Christ.
And faith in him.
Jesus said, Take my yoke upon you.
Take all that old heavy work and labor.
Thinking you're going to get into heaven yoke off about your good works.
Take that off.
Put Jesus yoke on you, folks.
Put the yoke of Jesus Christ around your neck.
He says, and learn of me.
People who are trying to do good works to get into heaven, they haven't learned of their Savior that died for every one of their sins.
They haven't learned of Jesus Christ.
Learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden light.
My burden is light.
Why?
Because Jesus did all the work for you, folks.
He did all the work for you.
All you have to do is believe and rest, and you just rest because Jesus' yoke is alive.
No more struggling with all those works.
You either have the yoke of forgiveness of your sins upon you, relieving you of that heavy burden of sin through faith in what Christ did for you on the cross.
Or you still have that burden of sin yoke weighing you down, keeping you from knowing forgiveness through faith in Christ, which will bring you the relief that you need.
If you are a person who believes that good works is the way to be forgiven by God of all your sins, so that when your spirit leaves this fleshly body, you will be with God for eternity, let me ask you this.
How much good work do you have to do?
And if you know the answer, would you please show me in God's Word where God tells us the answer of that?
I have not read any word, God's word, where that answer is found.
And you will not either, because that answer is not in God's word.
Because you cannot do Any so-called good works to earn your forgiveness of sin, debt to God.
Not happening.
Hebrews 3.
18, And to whom swear he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believe not.
So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
Only through faith in Christ will you enter the kingdom of God, folks.
There is no amount of good works that is going to get you in.
Now we have spent some time on this issue and I hope that helps you and you will rethink your stance on good works getting you into heaven if you are a person who thinks that way.
Study God's word and ask God to help you find the answers that will help you.
Now, folks, I am not saying good works are a bad thing.
That's not what I'm saying.
What I'm saying is that what God's word says is that good works is not what gets you forgiven of your sin.
Faith in the death of Jesus Christ on that cross, paying for your sins.
Your punishment was put on Jesus Christ on the cross.
All your sin debt was paid for by that.
He that believeth on him is not condemned.
But he that believeth not is what?
Condemned already.
Why?
Because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
It doesn't say, Because he hath not done enough works. he hath not believed for by grace are you saved through faith and that not of works not of yourselves lest any man should boast Titus 3, 5.
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us.
By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost, which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior.
Abundantly, folks, that means more than enough.
You don't need to add to what God has already done for you.
That being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Now if you're still thinking that you have to work your way to get into heaven, folks.
I pray for you.
I pray that God will open your eyes to that's not true and that you'll seek God.
Get into God's word.
Look for the answers, folks.
He will show you, I promise.
Now let's get back to Genesis.
This was part of our lesson last week for those that were not here.
Now let's get back to our verse in Genesis chapter 1 and verse 24, which starts out.
And God said, let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind.
We pretty much understand what a living creature is, don't we?
Something that has life, that's breathing, that is a living creature.
That is an animal that is alive.
God used the earth.
God used the earth and brought forth animals that can breathe.
Wow.
That should put you in awe of our God, folks.
To me, that is amazing in itself.
Once again, not a human being can do that.
None of us can do that.
Only God, through His power, can do that.
Now God did not just bring forth one or two animals from the earth that have life, but look back at our text in Genesis 24.
It says, Let the earth Bring forth the living creature after his kind.
Now we have seen the words after his kind before, haven't we?
Back in verse 11 and 12 of this same chapter, we read, and God said, let the earth bring forth grass.
The herb yielding seed and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself upon the earth, and it was sowed.
And the earth brought forth grass and herb-yielding seed after his time, and the tree-yielding fruit whose seed was in itself After his kind, and God saw that it was good.
And in verse 21 of the same chapter, we read, Genesis says 1:21, and God created great whales. and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly after their kind and every wing fell after his kind.
And God saw that it was good.
After their kind and after his kind come from the same Hebrew word.
The three words after his kind come from the Hebrew word mean, which gives us the idea of species.
When I looked up the word species in my old Webster dictionary, I found that this word comes from a Latin word that means a seed.
That which is seen, appearance, shape, of peculiar sort, kind or quality.
There are different species of grass, herb yielding seed, fruit trees, whales, and winged fowl.
For instance, we know that an owl, a buzzard, and a sparrow are all birds, don't they?
They're all birds, huh?
If we were to look at an owl and a buzzard and a sparrow, we should have no problem distinguishing between the three different species of birds that they are.
They all have wings and beaks and look like birds, but they all have distinguishing qualities that make them the species that they are.
We can visibly see the difference.
But some of the character and some of the characteristics as well.
All three are made after his kind.
So let's look back at our verse here in Genesis chapter 1 at verse 24 and see which living creatures God made after his time from the earth.
Our verse says cattle.
And creeping thing and beast of the earth after his kind.
Here in Texas, we should all know what cattle are.
Some of us may not know the difference between a Holstein and a Herfer, or a Bremer and a Ninja, but those are cattle breeds after their kind.
They are all cattle, just different species.
Now the word creeping thing comes from a Hebrew word that means to glide swiftly.
To crawl or move with short steps.
This is going to be your insects and bugs, your reptiles, and rodents.
Animals close to the ground, all those creepy things that creep you out.
Thank you, Pastor.
Our pastor said that the other day, church, that's where I got that.
You're spiders and snakes, animals like that, okay?
Now our last one here in this verse is the beast of the earth.
This is going to be your Bigfoot and your chupacabra and a loch nest monster.
Okay, nobody's painted.
That's a joke.
No, that's not true.
Just kidding.
These are going to be your wild animals, such as lions and tigers and bears.
Oh my, that's my mom.
On a side note, if there is a chupacabra and a Bigfoot and all that, God made them too.
So I don't believe there is, but if there was, God made them too.
These are going to be your wild animals such as lions and tigers and bears.
Please folks, please.
Don't stick your hands in the lion's cage to pet the lion on the head or try and touch the lion anywhere or try to get a selfie with a wild buffalo or any wild animal.
These are beasts of the earth and they are wild and all they want is food, water, and a nap along with other wild animal instincts that they have.
Taking a selfie with you is not on their list of things to do, okay?
So don't go huddle up next to a wild bear somewhere and try to be all nice and gentle.
Don't do that.
They're beasts.
Don't mess with the beasts.
Now as we look at the last part of this verse, we'll start closing this down, folks.
Now as we look at the last part of this verse here in verse 24, it says, And it was so.
And it was so.
If we look at the first part of this verse, it says, and God said, And God said, and it was so.
God started it, and God finished it.
Revelation 21, 5 through 7 And he that sat upon the throne said Behold, I make all things new.
And he said unto me, Write, for these words are true and faithful.
And he said unto me, It is done.
It is done.
I am Alpha and Omega.
The beginning and the end I will give unto him that is a thirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
He that overcometh shall inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
And God said, and it was so, folks.
And God said, and it was so.
And God said, And it was so.
1 John 5, 5 says, Who is he that overcometh the world?
But he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God.
First, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
The way, the truth, and the life.
And I believe that no man cometh unto the Father but by Him.
That is what I believe.
That is what I will be sharing with you for the rest of my life for as long as I can.
I believe that Jesus went to the cross.
He died a horrible death for our sins.
Again, I believe that God put all of our sins on the cross.
And I believe that Christ took those sins.
He shed his blood to set us free.
I believe that after Jesus died, he was taken down off of that cross.
I believe that he was put in a tomb.
And on the third day, I believe Jesus rose from that tomb.
That is what I believe.
I pray that you believe that as well.
For only through Jesus Christ are you going to believe.
Forgive them your sins.
Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for each and every person that's come, Lord.
We pray, Lord, that you will just continue to send the ones that you want to come and hear your word, Father.
And I pray, Lord, that you'll just bless us with the grace to continue sharing the word with others, God.
Lord, we thank you, Lord, and we pray, Lord, that you'll bless each and every person that's here, Lord. ones that come faithfully to hear your word, Father.
We pray, Lord, that you'll bless them with understanding, Lord.
Oh, Lord, what a blessing it is to know Jesus Christ, Father.
And you know my heart, Lord.
You know I just want to tell others about Jesus, Father.
I pray, Lord, that those that have ears will hear, Lord.
We thank you and we love you so much, Father.
We want to pray for the caregivers that are here, Father.
We pray, Lord, that they'll take care of these people, Father.
And help them the way you want them to be taken care of and the way you want them to be helped, Father.
We pray that they are just an extension of your love for these folks, Father.
We thank you, Lord.
We want to pray for those who can't come because they're bedridden, Father, but they want to be here, Lord, hear your word, Father.
We thank you, Lord, and we love you so much.
We thank you so much for Brother Ray standing in for Brother Larry.
We want to pray for Brother Larry and his family, Lord, and their health issues.
We just pray your will be done in their recovery, Father.
Thank you for the camera lady coming and helping, Lord.
We just thank you so much, Lord, for all that you do for us, Lord.
For all you do as good, Lord.
We thank you for Jesus.
We thank you for your Holy Spirit.
We thank you for your word, Lord.
And in Jesus' name, Lord, we pray here today.
Amen.
