All right, good afternoon everyone.
Good afternoon.
What a blessing it is for me to see each and every one of you here today gather together to hear God's wonderful word.
Now last week we read in God's Word the things that God created on the fifth day.
So today we're going to be reading about the things that God created on the sixth day.
As we read verses, we're going to be in chapter 1 of Genesis and we're going to read verse 24 today.
Now before we start, I want to preface this by saying, have you ever been reading God's Word and you think that it's going to take you It's one place, and then the more you study on it, it takes you to something that you wasn't even foreseeing to happen.
And that is kind of what happened to me as I was. doing this lesson.
I thought, well, this is what I'm going to be teaching about.
And as I got into it, Oh, this is what I'm going to be teaching about.
My wife has seen me several times.
I'll write something down and I get into it and then.
Start all over again.
This is kind of like one of those lessons like that.
So we're going to be veering off just a little bit, but yet we're still in God's word.
Just bear away with you.
Genesis 1. 24, as we look at God's word, chapter 1, verse 24, and God said.
Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth after his kind.
And it was so.
Let's pray.
Heavenly Father.
Thank you so much, Lord, for each and every person, Lord, that's come to hear your words today, Father.
We're just so grateful, Lord, that each and every person is here, Father.
And we're so thankful for the faithful ones who come to hear each and every Sunday, Lord.
We pray, Lord, as we get started into this lesson that you bless us with it, Lord, that all eyes will be upon you and that you'll just allow your spirit to teach us here today, Father.
We pray, Lord, that you will help us with the distractions, Lord.
We move on, Father, and just let us concentrate on your word today, Lord.
Teach us now, Father.
We thank you so much for Jesus, and we thank you for your word and your Holy Spirit, Lord.
In Jesus' name we pray, Lord, amen.
In our previous verses from last week, we saw that God started with creating the moving creatures that have life in the waters first, then the fowls.
Of the air from the wet ground below the waters, and now we read that God is creating the living creature after his kind from plain old earth.
From plain old earth when we look back at all that God has done so far in the book of Genesis.
And just think about the things that God has created here.
I can't help but think that God can do anything.
Amen.
Yes, he can.
God can do anything.
Anything.
There is no one that can take some dirt and make a living creature out of it other than our God, folks.
There is not a human living on this planet today that can create a well from any amount of water, as we read that God did in our previous verses.
God can create anything he wants to without any help.
From anybody.
Amen.
I hope that each and every person here today and those that tune in to listen as well on the internet understand this.
God created all things without any of our help.
There's not a person here one that helped God create heaven on the earth.
Amen.
None of them.
John 1:3 says, All things were made by him.
And without him was not anything made that was made.
Our God, who is made up of three persons.
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost created everything we have been reading about in the book of Genesis.
He did all of this all by himself without any help from anybody else.
That's important that you remember that.
Jeremiah 32, 27 says, Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh.
Is there anything too hard for me?
The answer to that question is no, folks.
If I was to ask you here today if you thought God needed our help to do anything, what would your answer be?
No.
No, God does not need our help to do anything.
Keep that in mind, folks, as we go further.
Amen.
Praise God.
So we're going to get a little deeper here.
And I want you to remember that God does not need your help.
Amen.
As a matter of fact.
It's the totally opposite.
We need God's help.
No would be the answer to that question.
God does not need our help to do anything.
It is the exact opposite.
We need God's help and he wants you to understand that.
Psalms 121.
2, My help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth.
Psalms 124 verse 8, Our help is in the name of the Lord who made heaven and earth.
Now I want you to understand and learn that God does not need our help.
We need his, and I pray that you understand this.
Very important.
Now, I said all of that to say this: our God, who can use dirt speak into existence a living creature does not need your help for your salvation.
For those people who believe they have to work for their salvation, I pray you rethink that belief.
There is not a one of you who paid the cost at the cross of Calvary to earn your salvation.
Only Jesus the Christ, the precious Son of God, who endured the torture and misery before enduring on the cross, can claim that he did all the labor.
And for you to even claim in any way that you help in your own salvation is, in my opinion, a slap in the face to God.
The only help we did was to help send him to the cross to be humiliated, tortured, and killed in a most barbaric and hideous way.
I saw Brother Adrian Roberts do this, and for anybody here today or anybody watching who think that they have to add their works.
To their salvation.
I'm here to tell you that's a falsehood.
And I want to show you from scripture today.
Ephesians chapter 2, verses 8 and 9.
Ephesians chapter 2, verses 8 and 9.
For by grace Are ye saved, you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves.
It is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.
So let's look at this.
Okay.
What saves what doesn't?
What saves?
Everybody can hopefully you can make out my hand scratch the grace of God.
Faith so what saves grace what is grace It is the gift of God.
You know what grace means in the Hebrew?
I'm sorry, in the Greek.
Greek, thank you.
Greek.
Gift, among other things that means.
It also means graciousness.
For by the gift are you saved through faith, that gift comes from God.
What saves?
Grace.
Through faith.
Faith.
Faith.
What is faith?
That's what you believe, folks.
What you believe, another word for belief, trust.
What you're trusting in, what you believe.
Are you believing in the grace of God?
Are you believing in that gift of God?
Because that's what saved you.
Your faith.
You know how you get that faith?
Through God.
God blesses you with the faith, folks.
God blesses you with faith.
No man cometh unto Jesus unless God draws you to Jesus.
That's what Christ said.
Now let's look at what doesn't say works.
Not of works.
What does it save?
Works.
Works do not save you, folks.
Right there.
That's not brother Doug.
That's God's word.
If you think for one moment That you're adding anything to what God did for you by sending the gift of Jesus Christ.
If you think you're adding to that Please, I want to say it as nicely as I can, rethink that thought.
Rethink that thought.
Please, stop moving, stop it.
With God created all that we have been reading about here in Genesis, all by himself.
It was a gift, wasn't it?
The day and the night and the air that we breathe and all this earth that we live on, all of these things were a gift from God that He created all by Himself without any of our help.
And the same can be said for your salvation.
God gave you a way to be saved.
All by himself.
Amen.
Without any of our help.
And if you will believe that God can save you all by himself, without any of your works, I promise you that God is powerful enough to save you without any of your words.
When Jesus Christ went to the cross, do y'all remember there was a thief on each side of it when Jesus was in the middle?
Y'all remember that?
That one thief said, hey, if you are indeed the Son of Christ, get us down off this cross.
The other one had faith.
And that he was the Christ.
He believed that that was Jesus.
What?
Y'all remember what Jesus told him?
This day thou shalt be with me and praise.
That thief didn't get off the fat cross and go do good works, did he?
As a matter of fact, he had no good works.
He was a thief.
He died on that cross, but he was saved because he believed in Jesus Christ.
No worries.
And that brings me to another point.
That thief didn't get off that cross and go get baptized first, did he?
No.
He couldn't.
So he was saved, wasn't he?
Yes.
Baptism isn't your answer either, folks.
Works isn't your answer.
What about people who are out in the desert who are saved, there's no water around to get baptized?
What about people who are saved and all of a sudden burn up in a fire?
Baptism isn't your answer.
Works is not your answer.
Your answer is faith.
Faith in the gift of God.
Woo!
Faith.
In the gift of God, God gave you a way to be saved all by himself without any of our help.
And if you will believe that God can save you all by Himself without any of your works added in, I promise you.
That God is powerful enough to save you without any of your works.
When Christ died on the cross, He offered His sinless life to the Father for a sacrifice in order to pay for your sin-filled life.
He did that without any of our help.
1 Peter 3:18 says, For Christ also hath once suffered for sins.
The just, that's Christ, for the unjust, that's us.
That he might bring us to God.
Being put to death in the flesh but quickened by the Spirit, this verse does not say that he and you and your good works might bring us to God, does it?
No.
This verse says that he, Jesus, might bring us to God.
Jesus said in John 14, 6.
I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No man cometh unto the Father but by me.
This verse says that Jesus is the way, not you and your good works.
Please folks if you are relying on your good works plus the cross to be forgiven of your sins, please rethink that.
Christ did all the work for you.
All you have to do is believe.
Amen.
I will sing of my Redeemer and his wondrous love to me on the cruel cross he suffered from the curse to set me free.
Sing, oh, sing of my Redeemer.
With his blood he purchased me.
On the cross he sealed my pardon, paid the debt, and made me free.
Hallelujah.
1 Peter 1. 18, for as much as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, such as silver. and gold from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
The sacrifice that Christ offered unto the Father for payment in full for our sins was perfect.
The Father accepted it.
And offers forgiveness to all who will believe in the death of his son on the cross as payment in full for your sins.
You cannot add to something that is perfect and make something perfect any better because it is perfect already.
We are all sinners in need of a Savior because we can't save ourselves.
God, in His infinite wisdom, had mercy upon us.
And sent His Son to take our burden of sin upon Himself to bear on the cross and pay the penalty for our sins that we so rightly deserve.
But because of God's grace, And his gift of Jesus Christ through faith we are saved.
John 3:36.
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life.
And he that believeth not the sun shall not see life.
But the wrath.
Of God abideth on Him.
For those who believe that Christ did not take all of the wrath of God for their sins, But they but that they have to help with their works In order to fully fulfill God's plan for forgiveness, you are going to suffer greatly.
And I am asking you to please accept the payment of Christ as payment in full for your sins.
And rest in the grace of God.
Amen.
Rest in that.
Jesus Christ paid your payment for your sins in full.
Don't help at all.
You can't add to something that's already perfect.
It was a perfect sacrifice made by a perfect God in the flesh, Jesus Christ, for your sins.
All by himself, folks, without none of your works other than your skin.
Sure, y'all know this part.
Say it with me, you've what?
John 3:16 through 18.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth, In him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world.
That's the first time.
He's coming back again.
First time Christ came, God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.
Amen.
The second time Christ is coming back.
He's coming back.
He's coming back for his people, folks.
He that believeth on him is not condemned, but he that believeth not is condemned already.
Why?
Because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
They are not resting in him. what God, what Christ did on that cross, they are believing in that plus their works.
That's wrong.
Wrong.
Christ did it all to him.
I owe.
Romans 3. 28 as we start to wrap this down, folks.
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without The deeds of the law.
Romans 4, 4 through 5.
Now to him that worketh Is the reward not reckoned of grace?
That word reckoned means counting.
It's not counted as grace.
If you're relying on your works plus, you're not relying on grace.
Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of death But of debt.
Your sin debt is not cleared.
You're still in debt.
You will still be found lacking when you're standing before God.
But to him that worketh not But believeth him that justifieth the ungodly his faith Is counted for righteousness.
His faith is counted for righteousness.
You remember that thief on the cross?
His faith.
Was counted as righteousness, folks.
His faith was counted for righteousness.
Psalms 4:5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness and put your trust in the Lord.
Without faith in Christ, you have no righteousness to offer.
God's word says, All our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.
Without faith in Christ, all of your good works are like filthy rags before God.
Once you put your faith in Christ, folks.
Then your good works count.
Without faith in Christ, all your good works are still to rags.
Proverbs 10:12, last one.
Treasures of wickedness Treasures of wickedness profit nothing without Jesus Christ, that's what all your so-called good works are, wickedness to the God, but righteousness.
Deliver us from death.
You can only receive the righteousness you need through the faith of the righteous one.
And his name is Jesus the Christ.
The Son of God, who God sent to save you.
It's on the way, folks.
For by grace, can you save through Faith, faith, and that not of yourselves.
Not of yourself, folks.
It is the gift of God, not of works.
Remember that, please.
Not of works.
Lest any man should.
Who wants to be in heaven when there's a bunch of people that's boasting about good works they did?
Not me.
I don't want to be in heaven with a bunch of that.
I want to be in heaven with my God, praise God.
Thank you, Lord, for loving me.
Amen.
Heavenly Father, thank you so much, Lord, for this lesson that you blessed us with, Father, and I pray, Lord, that Each and every person here in the Lord knows Jesus as their Savior, Father, and they're counting on the finished The finished deal at the cross, Lord, the finished product, taken care of by Jesus, Lord.
We pray, Lord, that people are putting their faith in that, Father, not in their works, Lord.
Lord, if there's one counting on their works, Father, I pray that you will have them reconsidered.
And I pray, Lord, that this message would just prick their hearts, Father, and that they would think about it, Lord.
For by grace are we saved through faith, Father, and that not of ourselves.
I pray, Lord, that that message got through to those who were counting on themselves, Lord, to be saved, Father.
Lord, we sure thank you, Lord, for each and every person that's come here today, Lord, to hear your word, Father.
Thank you for those who come to help us do this, Lord.
For all that you bless us with, Lord, to get this done, Father.
We just thank you so much for all that you do, Lord, for all you do is good.
Thank you for Jesus.
Thank you for the caregivers that are here, Father, and I pray for each and every one of them, Lord, that they would just help take care of these people here, Lord, the way you want them to be taken care of, Father.
I pray that they're just.
An extension of your love for these people, here, Father.
Lord, we thank you and we love you so much, Lord.
Thank you so much, Father.
Just pray a blessing upon each and every person that's here, Lord.
We just pray, Lord, you'll be with each and every one of them, Lord.
Let each and every person here know that they're not alone, Father, that you're with them here, Lord.
We thank you, Lord, and we love him.
Just say, come, Lord, Jesus.
