Alright, hello everybody.
Hello.
I can't tell you how excited I am.
We we're starting a new book today.
And we're going to be starting off in the book of Genesis.
This is my first time to get to teach through Old Testament and I'm really excited about it outcomes.
This is going to be fun.
I'm looking forward to it.
And alright.
Let me get there in my Bible.
I like to have God's word open when we do this.
Alright.
Alright, so we said good afternoon.
So God willing, we will be in the book of Genesis today as we start a new study.
Now everybody should know that Genesis is the very first book of the Bible.
We're going to be going verse by verse through this book and starting with verse 1, which says In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.
Let's pray.
Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord.
That you got us through the book of Jude, Father, and we thank you for allowing us to start a new book, Lord.
And we pray, Lord, that you Just teach through me here today, Father, and that every ear would be attentive to your word, Father.
And that you're glorified here through your word, Father.
Just teach us today, Father.
We thank you and we love you so much, Lord.
Thank you for your precious word.
And in Jesus' name we pray, amen.
All right.
So when I looked up the word Genesis in my old dictionary, I learned something that I did not know.
Nor have I ever heard of, and if I have, I don't recall it.
In the original Hebrew text, And the majority of your Old Testament is going to be written in Hebrew.
Some of it's Chaldean.
There might be a little bit of something else in there.
But it's not Greek yet until you get to the New Testament and the majority of it.
So the Old Testament is written in the majority of Hebrew Testament.
I mean Hebrew words Now in the original Hebrew text, when this was first, when God first gave this to man, this book had no title.
There wasn't no title on it The present title, which is Genesis, was prefixed to it by those who translated it into Greek.
And the word Genesis means birth or origin.
That is something that each and every one of us share, isn't it?
A birth and an origin.
We all have a birth and we all have an origin, giving each and every one of us a beginning.
Our Genesis.
As we go through the book of Genesis in God's Word, we are going to be learning of the Genesis of God's creation.
So let's start here with the words.
In the beginning.
The word beginning is translated from the Hebrew word reiseth.
Raishet.
And means the first in place, time, order, or rank.
God's word says in Psalm 111, 10, The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
A good understanding have all they that do his commandments.
His praise endureth forever.
The word fear used here gives us the idea of reverence or respect.
Proverbs 1-7 says, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of the of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
The word fear used here gives us the same idea of reverence or respect.
There is none of us born fearing God.
None of us are born fearing the Lord.
We must have a beginning at some time learning to reverence the Lord, folks.
Our verse says, in the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.
Now, who does our verse say created the heaven and the earth?
That's right.
God created the heaven and the earth just out of curiosity How many people here know that you were created by God?
That's that's pretty much everybody in here.
Every one of us know that we were created by God You would have never been born if it were not for our Creator.
Isaiah 44, 24 says, Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer.
And he that formed thee from the womb.
I am the Lord that maketh all things. that stretcheth forth the heavens alone, no help, that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself God did not need nobody's help in this room to form the heavens or the earth, folks.
Didn't need none of our help.
God created us.
That brings me to the point I am wanting to make here.
Now I'm going to get out of my soapbox here for just a few minutes, so just bear with me.
There are people Who think they are so smart that they want you to think that the earth came together by a big explosion. and that everything on this planet formed from that explosion and that mankind came creeping up from the waters onto the land and evolved from one critter to the next, shedding our different bodies and eventually becoming the brilliant society that we are today, believing something that is so Far from the truth that is laughable.
Why do these so-called brilliant minds think such nonsense is true?
No reverence of our Lord God whatsoever.
They have no fear of the Lord, folks.
Thus no wisdom and no knowledge of the truth.
Proverbs 15,2 says, the tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright.
But the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness to think if you look around and see all this creation To think that all of this came from some gases coming together and blowing up.
That is Foolishness.
Foolishness.
To believe that our planet or any other planet came from a coincidence of some gases that just happened to be the correct gases, mind you.
It's gotta take certain gases to do all this.
Enough of one certain gas and enough of another certain gas. just happening to come together in outer space and exploding and creating our planet is just as ridiculous As someone thinking, I'm going to believe that nonsense.
Ridiculous.
Ridiculous.
God's word says, in the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth, and anything else.
Apart from what God's Word says is a lie.
I don't care how many anti-Christ Say that nonsense, I will never believe it.
And that is what those people are.
Anti-means against.
When they are saying that our planet came from a big bang that is contrary to the word of God and in my book that makes them against God.
And no matter how many people want to believe that foolishness, I believe.
God.
How many people here today have ever seen something blow up?
Have y'all just seen anything blow up?
Back when you were kids, did y'all used to have firecrackers and pop firecrackers and stuff?
stuff did you ever see the firecrackers blow up?
I have.
At this point of history right now, there are a lot of things getting blown up over in the Middle East.
You may have seen some of the buildings getting blown up over there on the news recently.
I have Did the news show any, any of those buildings getting blown up and suddenly a brand new whole building appeared intact?
In my opinion, if that was to happen, that would be some news worth covering, wouldn't it?
For a bomb to drop on one of those buildings and that building blows up and all of a sudden you got a brand new building formed right there.
That would be news folks.
That would be news.
They would be showing that news all over the world.
The people over there in that war-torn area, they would be wanting more explosions all over the place if that was true.
When something blows up, it goes into pieces.
It does not come together, it goes apart.
To think that the world came together from an explosion is foolishness.
But that is the wisdom of this world.
1 Corinthians 3. 19 says, for the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.
For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
Remember the book of Jude, folks.
Jude was warning us against people who taught against God's word.
They're going to stand before God someday.
And they're going to be standing before God and God's going to say, where'd you come up with that idea?
That's not my word.
We had a wonderful lesson today at church.
And our pastor uses a thing of scales, and I have been trying to find me a set believer.
For the first time I've seen him do this, I've been looking.
My wife and I, the camera lady, when we go to flea market or something, I've always got that eye on for a set of skills.
It is a wonderful vision the way our pastor does this good learning for your eyes and it helps.
I like object lessons where I can show and we're working on stuff.
But our pastor shows on that scales.
Those people, the false teachers, they're going to put be in put in those scales.
They're going to be weighed in the balances.
And they're going to be shown lacking.
They don't meet up with God's glory, God's righteousness.
Only when you put your faith in Jesus Christ do you meet up with God's righteousness.
And that's through Christ alone.
Christ was the glory of God.
And when that's put in a balance, that lines up.
In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth Now the word heaven used here gives us the idea of to be lofty.
To be lofty.
The word lofty means elevated or very high.
When we look up at the sky, we can see the place where the clouds are and the birds fly.
And if some of you have been watching the news lately, you have probably seen some astronauts go past what we can see. into outer space where the moon and other planets are, but there is a place even further than that, where Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father.
I had a gentleman, and he's here with us today.
He asked me about how many heavens there were.
And I did some research in God's word, and this is what I found.
Now there may be more verses, so don't think that this is all there is.
This is just what I found Now I wrote those verses down on the papers that we passed out.
If y'all want to look at them later, you can.
Now I call this the heavens Of God's creation.
The heavens of God's creation.
The first heaven.
That is the atmosphere.
This is where the birds fly, the clouds form, and where the rain falls from.
We can see all of that with our eyes.
We look outside.
We can see the clouds.
That is the atmosphere.
Genesis 1. 20 says Thank you, Lord.
Genesis 1. 20 says, And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life. and foul that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven Matthew 6. 26, behold the fowls of the air, for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into bonds, yet your heavenly father feedeth them.
How are ye not much better than they?
James 5.
8.
And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
Now the second heaven is what we call outer space.
This is where we saw those astronauts go.
This is the area containing the sun and the moon and the stars.
Genesis one, fourteen through seventeen And God said, let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night.
And let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years And let them be for light in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth.
And it was so And God made two great lights.
The greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night.
He made the stars also.
And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth.
This is where our moon, our stars, our sun is.
This is our space, the second heaven.
Deuteronomy 4. 19, unless thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun and the moon and the stars, even all the host of heaven. shouldest be driven to worship them and serve them which the Lord thy God has provided unto all nations under the whole heaven.
Psalms eighty three When I considered thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which Thou hast ordained.
God has created all of the heavens.
All of the lofty high places God has created.
The third heaven, this is quick.
The heaven of heavens.
This is the immediate abode of God or paradise.
You remember when Jesus was on the cross with the two thieves and the one thief, he admitted Jesus was king.
Jesus told him tonight thou shalt or today thou shalt be with me in paradise.
This is where the third heaven is.
1 Kings 8.
27.
We're almost finished with this.
Through 29.
But will God indeed dwell on the earth?
Behold the heaven and the and heaven of heavens Cannot contain thee.
How much less this house that I have built.
Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant and to his supplication O Lord my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer which thy servant spread before thee today, that thine eyes may be opened toward this house, night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.
And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place, And hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and when thou hearest, forgive Luke 42, 23, 42, and 43.
And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
That is the third heaven.
2 Corinthians 12, 2 through 4.
I knew a man in Christ above 14 years ago, whether in the body I cannot tell, or whether out of the body I cannot tell.
God knoweth such in one caught up to the third heaven.
And I knew such a man, whether in the body or out of the body, I cannot tell.
God knoweth How that he was caught up into paradise and heard unspeakable words which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
Hebrews 8, 1, last one.
Now of the things which we have spoken, that is the Sum, we have such an high priest who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens.
Now looking back, now I hope that helps y'all a little bit with different headings.
Now looking back at our verse in Genesis, as we start to close this now.
We see the word earth.
Earth.
He says, in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
This word is translated from a Hebrew word that gives us the idea of being firm.
Folks, you look up You see the heavens, you see what God created.
Look down, you see the earth, you see what God created.
God created everything lofty.
God created everything, created everything Lord.
This word is translated from a Hebrew word that gives us the idea of being firm God knows all things, folks, and he knew before he created mankind that we would need a place to live.
He blessed mankind with this earth in the beginning.
He blessed mankind with this earth in the beginning.
Please remember that the only thing that I could think of that has a beginning and no end is God Himself.
The heaven and the earth had a beginning.
They will have an end.
John said in the book of Revelation, as we start to close, Revelation 21.
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth Why?
Because for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away.
And there was no more seed.
Gone, gone.
Gone gone.
Now you have a choice to make, folks, if you haven't already chosen Do I want to be part of this new heaven and new earth?
Or do I want to be separated from this new heaven and new earth?
I can tell you right now that this new heaven and new earth is going to be created by God.
Just as the one we're in now, just as the heaven we can see now, the new heaven and new earth is going to be created by God too.
We just gonna be a lot different than this one.
A lot different than this one here, folks.
Our verse says in Genesis, in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And I believe in the end God will create a new heaven and a new earth.
And for those who have been born again through faith in Christ, they will be part of it.
Revelation twenty-one five through eight as we play.
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new New.
And he said unto me, right, for these words are true and faithful.
That means you can count on it, folks.
You can count on it.
And he said unto me, it is done.
I am Alpha And Omega, the beginning and the end.
The beginning and the end.
I will give unto him that is a thirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
It doesn't cost you nothing, folks, to put your faith in Jesus.
Jesus Christ.
Amen.
Don't cost you nothing.
It doesn't cost you nothing to be part of the new heaven and the new earth both.
Don't cost you nothing.
He that overcometh shall inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
But the fearful and the and unbelieving and the abominable And murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars Shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
Now I've said it before, and I'm going to say it again.
All those I just read, the fearful The unbelieving, the abominable, murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars It doesn't say nowhere in here that none of those things are not forgivable.
They are not forgivable.
They are not forgivable, folks.
If you have told a lie, that's forgivable.
Thank you, Lord.
That's forgivable.
If you've been an idolater, it's forgivable.
It's forgivable.
Sorcerers, you ever check your horsecope?
Whoremongers?
Murderers?
Abominable?
Unbelieving.
We're all born unbelievers, folks.
Fearful?
You ever been afraid?
Yep.
Yeah.
All that's forgivable.
Every bit of it's forgivable.
Jesus Christ went to the cross to pay for every one of those sins, folks.
Every one of them.
You can be forgiven for each and every one of those things.
Just right here.
But it's by faith.
By faith For by grace, that is the gift of God, are you saved through faith?
That not of yourselves, not of works, lest any man should boast.
For my grace are you saved through faith.
All of those can be forgiven, folks, because that's your choice.
Do you choose to believe in the death of Jesus Christ for your sins or do you choose to turn your back on all that that God's offered you?
Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for each and every person that's come here today, Lord, to hear your word, Father.
Lord, I pray, Lord, that you were glorified here today, Father.
We pray, Lord, that they were pointing to Jesus Christ, Lord, as their Savior.
Lord, we thank you so much for this lesson that you blessed us with, Father.
And as we work our way through Genesis, Lord, we pray, Lord, that you would just continue to bless us. with understanding and just sharing your word through us Lord.
Just bless us with the knowledge and understanding we need, Lord, to tell others about it.
Just work through us now.
And we thank you, Lord, for each and every person being attentive here today, Father.
We thank you so much, Lord, for each and every person that comes to you, Word.
Lord, they're such an encouragement.
They are so precious, Lord.
And Lord, we pray that you'll just bless each and every one of them and be with us, Lord.
Let them know that they're not alone as they're here, Lord, in this place, Father.
We pray for those who can't get out of their beds, Father, to come and hear your word taught, Lord.
And we just pray that you'll be with them as well, Lord.
Thank you so much, Lord, for all that you do.
All you do is good.
We thank you for Jesus.
We thank you for your Holy Spirit.
We thank you for your word, Lord.
We want to pray for the caregivers that are here, Lord, and pray that take care of these people the way you want them to be taken care of.
We thank you.
We thank you for those who come to help here, Father.
We thank you for Brother Larry and his wife and the Camera Lady and Brother Ray and all them that pitch in to help, Father.
We thank you for them.
We thank you and we love you, Lord.
And in Jesus' name, Lord, we pray, Amen.
