Alright, good afternoon everyone. Good to see you, man. Alright, so since we did not have our whiteboard last week, God has blessed us with a whiteboard here. and i got it all put together and everything i went to bring it last week but it wouldn't fit in the car so i was gonna bring it yesterday but it rained i was gonna bring my pickup but it rained yesterday so I thought, well, I took it back apart and put it in my wife's car. I'm going to brought it in her car today. So we have a Sawite Wolf here, and God has on my heart to bring it, and I believe that it's going to be a Great learning tool for all of us. I'm not the best drawer, but we're going to, you know, just Go where I believe God is calling me to go. Go and jump out there. We're going to try it. So we say, and I pray that it It helps as a learning tool for each and every person. When I'm talking about the words, I want to put the definitions up here, some of them. I want to put the Hebrew definitions since we are in Genesis right now. We're talking about the Hebrew language. And I like to put the definitions up there so we all have that as we're reading God's Word. So, with that said, We're going to be starting back in, we're going to be in Genesis today, chapter 1, where we started, and we go verse by verse by verse. So, for y'all that do, we go verse by verse until we get through the whole book, and then we'll. start in the mother book God but let me start verse by verse there I was taught that it's the best way to learn your Bible and that's what we want to do is learn and God willing, He's going to teach through me and we're going to learn. And that's what I want to do. I'm so excited to be able to do this. So here we go. We're going to start back here and we're going to go ahead and we're going to read in Genesis chapter 1 verses 6 through 8. So we're going to read them. We've already covered these, but now since we have a whiteboard here, we're going to use it. We're going to use it, God willing. So we start off in Genesis chapter 1, verse 1. We're going to read down through verse 8. In the beginning, who created the heaven and the earth? God created the heaven and the earth. In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light. And there was light. And God saw the light that it was good. And God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light day, and the darkness he called night. evening and the morning were the first day and God said let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters and let's divide the waters from the waters And God made the firmament and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament, and it was so. And God called the firmament heaven, and the evening and the morning were the second day. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you so much, Lord, for your precious word, Lord. We thank you so much, Lord, for each and every person that has come to hear your word today, Lord. And we pray, Lord, that each and every person here today, Lord, learns more and leave here, Lord, learning more of your word than when they came, Father. We want each and every person to learn your word, Father. And we pray, Lord, that you just use me to teach your word, Father. Just let your Holy Spirit teach through me here today, Father. Lord, we're so thankful, Lord, for this white board that you blessed us with, Father. And we pray, Lord, that it is used, Lord, in the teaching of your word, Father. Let the people see your words, Father, and learn them, Lord. We thank you and love you so much, Father. We thank you for all those come to hear your word today, Lord, and we pray that the saints are edified and that the lost are pointed to Jesus, Father. Thank you so much, Lord. We love you so much, Lord. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Amen. Okay, so last week, we read 6 through 8. Genesis 1. Now we have our whiteboard here. Now y'all heard me mention the word firmament several times, are correct? So I have gone ahead while we had a minute. And I wrote her definitions down and we're going to go over them again. I like this little whiteboard. Now, like I said, my handwriting isn't the best in the world, but hopefully y'all can read this. The word firmament. In verse 6 he says, And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters. Our word firm in the Hebrew, this is our pronunciation. I didn't write the exact Hebrew word because in my notes. I remember when I first started coming and I would tell y'all the words, how the Hebrew word was spelt, I was getting a lot of sleepy eyes. So what I did. . In my notes, I've gotten to where I just put down the pronunciations for me to be able to help pronounce them to you. But we have a whiteboard now, so I can write them down for y'all. Firmament in the Hebrew is raw kien. Raw kien. Okay? The word firmament Means expanse. Expanse. Visible arch of the sky. Okay? Firmament. Visible arch of the sky. Are you with me so far? Now, he said, let there be a firmament. or an expanse, a visible arch of the sky in the midst of the waters, our word midst. Ta Vec. Ta Veh. That means to sever or divide. It gives us the idea of at the center. At the center. And God said, let there be a firmament in the midst of the water, and let it divide the waters from the waters. When I saw the word firmament, it says visible arch of the sky. Now when you see the word arch What's the first thing come to your mind? The first thing that came to my mind was my foot. My foot. If you look at your foot, there's an arch in that foot. Which way does that arch go? Upward rhyming. The first thing that came to my mind when I was thinking about an arch was my foot. Have you ever looked at a foot and seen that place on the bottom that curves upward? That is an arch. The dictionary, when I looked up the word arch in the dictionary, it had about a full one-third of a page, and I've got a big dictionary. And this, when I looked up the word arch, the whole third of the page and a little bit of the other one had all kinds of definitions for the word arch. It goes all the way back to Greek towers that they built, arches on them, and stuff like that. The dictionary had about a full one-third of a page about definition of an art. But to keep it easy for us, the one we will go with is. . To form with a curve. To form with a curve. So the curve of the sky which we Can't really see, can we? When you look up at the sky, can you tell that it's curved? You can't, can you? I can't. Not unless there's a rainbow up there. Well. But we know it has to be curved because the earth is what? Round. That's round. The earth is round. So the sky has to be curved. That's what God's word says. He put an ark of an arch up there. So the curve of the sky, I'll say here. You'll get back in a moment. God amazes me folks and I hope he amazes you too. It's just we sang amazing grace a while ago. The earth is so big to us that looking at the sky you would not think that it is curved unless there was a rainbow of God And God put that up there too, by the way. Only our God could do that. Psalms 19:1 says to the chief musician, a Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament showeth his handiwork. Isn't that good? That's good. Now the word midst We got our word mitz right here. And it means to sever or divide. It gives us the idea of at the center. When we divide something, what do we do? We separate it. In order to show the difference or distinguish it from something else. If I had a jar full of nuts and bolts and I wanted to get more organized. I would dump that jar out and start sorting through it, separating the nuts from the bolts. And I would put the nuts in a separate container and the bolts in a different container. They are separated. They are divided. When God heard the cry of the children of Israel who were enslaved by the Pharaoh of Egypt, he divided the children of Israel from the Egyptians. And on their way out of the land of Egypt, God divided the Red Sea in order for them to get to a new land and show them that God is the one in control. God showed them that he was the one he controlled. Psalms 136, and we're going to read a few of these, 136 verse 1, and I'm going to read a few of them because it talks about God's mercy. I love God's mercy. Psalms 136. 1, and I've got y'all marked there, Don, if y'all want to look at that one while we read it. He says, oh, give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good, for his mercy endureth forever. Oh, give thanks unto the God of gods, for his mercy endureth forever. He says that twice. I can't help but think as God is dividing all these things as he's creating the world. That's mercy, folks. That's mercy. Think about it. God didn't want you living in the water, did he? God didn't want you living in an upper and outer space. He gave you a place to live. Mercy. Oh, give thanks to the Lord of lords, for his mercy endureth forever. To him who alone doeth great wonders, for his mercy endureth forever. To him that by wisdom made the heavens. For his mercy endureth forever. To him that stretched out the earth above the waters. For his mercy endureth forever. To him that made great lights. for His mercy endureth forever. The sun to rule by day, for His mercy endureth forever. The moon and the stars to rule by night, for His mercy endureth f Seven notes. To him that smote Egypt in their first form, for his mercy endureth forever. and brought out Israel from among them, for his mercy endureth forever. The words from among them used here gives us the idea of to sever or divide. With a strong hand and with a stretched-out arm, for his mercy endureth forever. To him which divided the Red Sea into parts. For his mercy endureth forever, and made Israel to pass through the midst of it. Midst of it. For his mercy endureth forever. Last verse. But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red Sea. For his mercy endureth forever. Do y'all understand God's mercy endures forever? Now there's a difference between mercy and patience. Remember that. We can see from God creating the heaven and the earth that God separates things. In verse 1 of Genesis chapter 1, we see that God created the heaven and the earth. Now a thought crossed my mind when I saw that. Why not just create one or the other? Why both? Why both? Sometimes I ask myself questions that I cannot answer with certainty, but one thing I can be assured of is God knows why. Because He has a plan. God divided them. In Genesis chapter 1, verse 4, we can see that God divided the light from the darkness because the light was good. Genesis 1. 4, and God saw the light that it was good, and God divided the light from the darkness. God divided them. Now in verse 5, we see that God divided the first day from the start of creation. Genesis 1, 5. And God called the light day and the darkness he called night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. Now in verses 6 and 7 we read, and God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide The waters from the waters. And God made the firmament and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament, and it was so. Now. Here's what we're going to attempt to do. We're going to attempt to do this. It may work, it may not. Okay. And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the water. So we have water, right? Remember now, land hasn't been created yet. The earth is void and without form. It's all water, right? Okay. God said, let there be a firmament in the midst of the water. What's our definition of firmament? Expanse, visible arch of the sky. So let's go ahead and bring our water on up here since it's all water. So We have a visible arch of the sky. And God made the firmament and let it divide the waters From the water, so we have all water here on it. So we're going to have an arch. Remember that arch? So we're going to take an arch and we're going to make an arch. If our board won't move away. We're making an arc. So we have division now, don't we? It's divided. Falling? Oh, not really though. And God made the firmament and divided the waters which were under the firmament. So we have our firmament. We got water down here. Water up here, these are divided now, these are divided. I should have left that in there. My fault. My first time. Just bear with me. So now we have an orange. Here's our arch right here. This clear spot, this is our arch. We have these waters, we have these waters. These waters are up in the sky, these waters are down below. There's an arch right here between them. And we went from the middle. The midst, and God made the firmament and divided the waters which were under the firmament. Here's our firmament. These are the waters under the firmament. And he divided the Water's under your farm empty and the ones Above the firmament and expanse, visible arch of the sky. So these are up in the sky, these are below the sky. And it was so. This is our arch. This is the top. This is the bottom. So we have all this in the middle. And God called the firmament. This part up here, this is all above. This is below. This up here is called heaven. It says here in verse 8, and God called the firmament heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. Somewhere up here. Somewhere up here, folks. It's heaven. God called the firmament heaven And the evening and the morning were the second day. So, somewhere up here right now, well, not right now, we're going to move on a little. But right now, where we're at in Genesis, this is where we're at: this is the firmament. This is water's here, this is water's here, there's a firmament in between. So up here is heaven, down below is not. And God called the firmament heaven, and the evening and the morning were the second day. This, somewhere up in here in this firmament, is called heaven. That is where God lives. This sin-filled earth is no place for a holy and righteous God to live. Psalms 150 verse 1. Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary. Praise him in the firmament of his power while we are waiting for his return. Praise God in his sanctuary. While we are waiting down here on this earth, you be bringing God glory while he's in this sanctuary. This Is one of the reasons why I think God separated heaven and earth. God knew in His infinite wisdom that this world would end up being the way it is, and this. This is no place for him. So he made a place far away from here to stay. He divides things. In the last part of verse 8, we have to stay here. We see that God divided the second day from the first by dividing the evening from the morning. As we saw in verse 5, which divided the evening and the morning from the morning, creating the first day. My point to this is that God shows us through His Word that He will divide things. Now God has blessed us with the choice to either believe him or not to believe him. There, once again, is a division. If you do not believe God, you are separated from the ones who do believe God. Division. 2 Corinthians 6, 14 through 18. Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? Division. And what communion hath light with darkness? Division. And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Division. And what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? Division. And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God. As God has said, I will dwell in them. And walk in them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Oh, to be God's people, folks. Wherefore come out from among them and be ye separate. Division. Saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you. and will be a father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and my daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. If you don't know God's Son as your Savior, you are still an unbeliever. And you will be separated from God. The believers at your judgment. Just by God not allowing the night to exist with the day or the evening with the morning. He is not going to allow the unbelievers to exist with the believers in the kingdom to come, folks. Unlike the night and the day and the morning and the evening. Which did not have a choice, God has given you a choice. God gave me a choice. God has given each and everybody in this world a choice. Deuteronomy 30 19 and we'll close I call heaven and earth to record this day against you that I have set before you life And death division blessing and cursing division Therefore choose life that both thou and thy seed may live. You have a choice, folks. Each and every Sunday I come, praise God, and I tell you, Jesus Christ is the way to heaven. For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto God. But by me, you have a choice, folks. Choose right, choose life. Choose wrong, you're gone. You have a choice. If you don't know Jesus Christ as your Savior, folks, you have time today to do that. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Please, while you have time, Brother Doug wants to see you in heaven. But now my brother Dove, God wants you there too. Heavenly Father, thank you, Lord, for each and every person who's come to hear your word, Father. Lord, we thank you so much, Lord, for all that you do. Father, for all you do is good, Lord. Thank you so much for Jesus Christ, Lord, the one that bare our sins on the cross, Father, in order that we may not be broken. Father, I pray for one here today that doesn't know Jesus as their Savior, Father, or one watching on the internet, Lord. We pray, Lord, that they would seek you, Father. That they would turn to you and want to know Jesus as their Savior, Father. And I know, Lord, you haven't turned anybody away yet, Lord, that wants to know Christ, Father. And I don't think you're going to start, Lord. Lord, we just thank you so much, Lord, for each and every person that's come. We pray, Lord, you were glorified here today, Father, and that the people were appointed to Jesus, Lord. Thank you so much, Lord, for each and every person that's come, Lord, and all those that's come to help us, Father. We thank you for the tools that you bless us with here, Lord, to teach your word, Father, and share it with others, Lord. I know, Lord, you supply all our needs, Lord, and we thank you for that. Father, we want to pray for the caregivers that are here, Father. We pray for each and every one of them, Lord. We pray, Lord, that they'll take care of these people the way you want them to be taken care of, Father. And we pray, Lord, for those who can't get out of their beds, Lord, to come and hear your word, Father. We pray, Lord, that you'll be with them, Father. Let them know that they're not alone, Lord. We thank you and we love you so much, Father. In Jesus' name, Lord, we want to pray, Lord. Amen.
