All right, good afternoon everyone.
Good afternoon brother Doug.
We have been going through the book of Genesis verse by verse and we have made it to verse 11 chapter 1 in the book of Genesis.
Now, to get us started today, I'm going to start reading in verse 9 of Genesis in order for us to stay in context.
And I will read down to verse 12.
Okay?
So here we go.
Chapter 1, book of Genesis, and we're going to start reading in verse 9, all the way to verse 12.
And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear.
And it was so.
And God called the dry land earth, and the gathering together of the waters called he seas.
And God saw that it was good.
And God said, let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind.
Whose seed is in itself upon the earth, and it was sowed, and the earth brought forth grass. and herb yielding seed after his kind and the tree yielding fruit whose seed was in itself After his kind, and God saw that it was good.
Let's pray.
Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for those who have come to hear your word here today, Father.
I pray that each and every one of them are blessed, Lord, and that you'll just teach here today, Lord, that your Spirit teaches here today, Father.
I pray, Lord, that your word just goes forth here today, Lord, and that the saints are edified and that the law Appointed to Christ.
We thank you for those who come, Lord.
And in Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.
Okay, now in verse 10 and verse 12.
God saw that what he had created was what?
Good.
That's right.
Does anyone remember What was the first thing that God created that he saw was good?
Think back, we've covered this.
Very good.
The light.
The light.
And in Genesis 1, 3, and 4, and God said, let there be light, and there was light.
And God saw the light that it was good.
And God divided the light from the darkness.
The very first thing that is recorded for us in God's word that God saw as good in the book of Genesis is the light.
The light.
Without the light the earth would not bring forth the grass, the herb-yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after its kind. whose seed is in itself upon the earth.
Without the light these things would perish.
They might sprout up through the soil because that is their nature.
They are designed by God to want to sprout and live.
But without light, folks, what happens to these plants?
They die.
They die.
You and I are designed the same way.
God has designed us to want to sprout and live.
Like those plants that seek the light and live.
Jesus said in John 12:46, I am come a light. into the world that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness Hey, what happens to those plants if they sit in the darkness?
They die.
What happens to a precious soul who refuses to believe that Christ died for their sins and comes into the light?
They abide in darkness, and when their day of judgment comes, they will die.
Not only the first time through their physical death. but a second time through a spiritual death, which the Bible calls the second death.
When God sees that what He has created is good, He is passing judgment on what He has done.
He looked at the light and judged it to be good.
He looked at his work in creating the heaven and the earth and dividing the waters from the land. and creating the grass and herb yielding seed and fruit tree yielding fruit and judge those things to be good.
God says in the book of Job chapter 34 verse 4 let us choose to us judgment Let us know among ourselves what is good.
Have you taken the time to judge yourself, dear friend?
If you were to be judged right now by the Lord, is he going to agree with the same thing that you agree with?
Or how you have judged yourself?
Have you come to the knowledge that you are a sinner in God's eyes and the only way to be seen any differently?
Is by agreeing with God, or are you going to try and tell God that He is wrong?
What was the first thing God recorded for us in the book of Genesis that he saw was good?
The light.
1 John 1:5.
This then is the message which we have heard of him and declare unto you that God is light.
And in him is no darkness at all.
If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness, We lie, that's right, brother, and do not the truth.
Pardon me.
If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness, we lie and do not the truth.
But if we walk in the light, As he is in the light, we have fellowship one with all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, We deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
If the truth is not in us, His Word is not in us.
And if His Word is not in us, the truth is not in us.
All because we deceive ourselves that we have not sinned.
But verse 9 says, if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness That is a promise from God and God cannot lie.
So as I am standing here today, that is God's truth.
And you have eternal life with our Lord after death to gain by believing God.
And separation from God after death for eternity for not believing God.
God is the light and He made the light, folks, and without the light both you and I and the plants and vegetation would die along with everything else.
That depends on those things to survive.
Have you noticed yet how everything so far that God has created has been in order?
It has been in God's order.
Even the days so far God has placed in order.
Verse 13 says, Genesis 1. 13, and the evening and the morning were the third day.
So on the first day we learned that God created the light and he divided it from the darkness.
On the second day, he divided the waters from the waters by creating a firmament, which he called heaven.
And on the third day, God created the dry land, which he named earth, and he named the water under heaven seas.
And he created the vegetation and trees.
And our verse says that the evening and the morning were the third day.
Now something I couldn't help but notice here folks and maybe you noticed it too back in verse 12 where it says and the tree yielding fruit Whose seed was in itself.
This fruit tree has a seed in itself.
When that tree produces fruit, it is going to produce the fruit that comes from that tree.
My dad has a wide variety of fruit trees at his house.
He has peach trees, plum trees, and pecan trees and pear trees.
And no telling what else.
Maybe apple trees.
I can't remember what all these told them.
Now, when those trees produce fruit, I can tell you right now that his plum trees are not going to produce pecans.
And his peach trees are not going to produce The fruit that they are born to produce.
You and I have a cell.
Just like that fruit tree has a seed within itself.
What you choose to produce is determined by what you believe.
That peach seed knows that is a peach seed and therefore it produces peaches.
That plum seed knows that it is a plum seed.
Therefore, it produces plums.
Matthew 7:17 through 20 says, Even so.
Oh, do you know what kind of seed you are?
Matthew 7:17 through 20.
Even so, every good tree bringeth forth good fruit.
But a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit.
Neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down.
And cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
What kind of seed are you folks?
Are you a good seed or are you a bad seed?
Psalms 37, 20 through 28 as we start to close here.
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delighteth in his way.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down.
For the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.
I have been young.
And now I'm old.
Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
He is ever merciful and lendeth, and his seed is blessed.
Depart from evil.
And do good and dwell forevermore.
For the Lord loveth judgment.
The Lord judges.
Remember, he saw and said that it was good.
He judged it, and he said that was good.
For the Lord loveth judgment.
And forsaketh not his saints.
They are preserved forever.
But the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
What kind of seed are you Are you a wicked seed or are you a good seed?
My mom and I were talking while I go after church.
And I told Mama, I said, Mama, I believe that the biggest sin that you can commit is unbelief.
Unbelief.
The Bible says, for he that believeth on him believeth on him.
Is not condemned.
That is belief.
That is agreeing with God.
That is believing.
But it goes on to say.
But he that believeth not, that's unbelief, is condemned already.
For he hath not believed In the name of the only begotten Son of God, all your sins are already paid for.
They were paid for on the cross of Christ.
Christ died for every one of those things.
Christ believed in God.
Christ knew that he was going to die for your sins.
Die for your sins.
If you do not believe God, That is unbelief and you are condemned already.
Seek first the kingdom of God.
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.
His righteousness is Jesus Christ.
Believe on him.
Believe on Him from the Son.
Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for those who have come to hear your word, Father.
Lord, I pray that you were glorified here today, Lord, and that the saints were edified and that the lost were pointed to Jesus, Father.
Lord, we pray, Lord, if there's one here that doesn't believe that Christ died for their sins and they want to believe, Lord, we pray, Lord, that you will shine the light on them, Father.
Shine that good light, Lord, that you saw was good.
Shine it on their hearts, Father, so they will know, Lord.
Open up their mind to Christ, Father.
Draw them to the cross, Lord.
We pray for them, Lord.
We pray for each person that's come, that's faithful, Lord, to come and hear your word, Lord, and they want to be taught your word, Father.
We pray, Lord, that you'll just teach us, Father.
Lord, we're praying for those who want to come and can't, Lord, because they're bed-ridden, Lord, that just can't get out of bed and make it.
We want to pray for the caregivers that are here, Father, and pray, Lord, that they'll take care of the people here like you want them to be taken care of, Lord.
Lord, we sure thank you for those who come and help us, Father, to share your word here, Lord, and lead sing, use the camera, everything, Lord, that they do as well.
Mark books, Father, and just All the little extra things, Father, that nobody sees, Lord, but you, still.
We thank you for them, Father.
We thank you and we love you so much, Lord.
Thank you for your precious and wonderful word, Father.
Thank you for your Holy Spirit.
And Lord, thank you for Jesus, Father.
And in his neighborhood, we won't pray amen today
